Child Care Director

The Appleton YMCA is hiring a full-time Child Care Director to lead our Early Childhood Child Care department. Early childhood care at the downtown Appleton Y includes both full-time & short-term licensed child care, Appleton Community 4K & 4K wrap around child care and preschool/growth & development classes. As a Director, you'll build relationships through meetings & correspondence with parents, members, staff, volunteers and our community partners. Responsibilities include maintaining program & child care licensing standards and records with extreme accuracy. Work closely with our child care center leadership team to hire, coach and lead our teachers & support staff. Oversee an annual budget as well as assist in the coordination & implementation of fundraisers. Directors also serve as a trainer for child care & emergency response-related trainings. This position is one of importance to the growth, strength & longevity of the early childhood programming in the Fox Cities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in Education or related field.
• Previous experience working with early childhood or school age children is required.
• Previous leadership experience is required, preferably in a child care environment.
• Knowledge of state childcare licensing and YoungStar regulations.
• Outstanding interpersonal & customer service skills including a high-level of written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task within a fast-paced child care environment.
• Prior experience with budget development & management, income production & expense control and training & supervisory skills.
• Self-motivated, self-directed and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proven ability to establish relationships with community organizations.
