The Department of Children and Families (DCF) is excited to introduce a new inclusion resource developed as part of the Race to the Top – Early Learning Challenge Grant.

Wisconsin UNITES: Understanding the Need for Inclusive Training and Educational Support is a five-part training series created around the questions of, “Why Inclusion?”, “What is Wisconsin doing to support inclusion?” and “What do our child care providers need in order to support inclusion in their programs?” The Wisconsin UNITES modules are available on the YoungStar Early Childhood Inclusion web page (https://dcf.wisconsin.gov/youngstar/eci).

This webinar will introduce early care and education providers to the first-of-its kind Toolbox for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC). The toolbox offers over 60 free interactive planning tools, guides, videos, PDFs and other resources to support IECMHC efforts in states, tribes and communities. Participants will leave with a more comprehensive understanding of how to apply these vast resources to efforts to develop and enhance IECMHC services to better support children’s healthy development from infancy through the transition to school. The Toolbox offers information about the latest research and best practices for IECMHC in infant and early care and education settings. 

Farm to Early Childhood Education Resources

Farm to early care and education (farm to ECE) is a natural extension of farm to school that offers increased access to healthy, local foods, gardening opportunities and food-based activities to enhance the quality of the educational experience in all types of ECE settings (e.g., preschools, child care centers, family child care homes, Head Start/Early Head Start, programs in K-12 school districts).
